ASTANA / BAKU / TASHKENT - Trade between Europe and Asia is no longer just a maritime story. The Trans-Caspian "Middle Corridor" - rail and road links through Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the Caucasus - is moving real volumes, and the infrastructure build-out along the route is one of the fastest-growing industrial stories in the world.
The corridor countries are spending accordingly. Kazakhstan is investing in grain-handling terminals and mining logistics; Uzbekistan is industrializing its textile and automotive sectors; Azerbaijan's ports are expanding to serve Caspian trade. All of this - silos, terminals, factories, ports - runs on conveyor chains, elevator chains and hoist chains. Meanwhile agricultural chain demand across the region is rising as Kazakh and Uzbek grain and cotton harvests mechanize, with several chain categories rated high-margin growth markets.
Where the demand is building
Grain logistics. Kazakhstan's wheat exports (35+ million tonnes a year) pass through thousands of elevators and terminals - each one consuming CC600 grain elevator chains with scrapers and bucket elevator chains.
Ports and terminals. Aktau, Baku and the emerging Alat terminal need heavy-duty conveyor chains for bulk handling of grain, oilseeds and containers.
Agriculture. Kazakhstan's combine harvester fleet (John Deere, Claas, and local Kirovets units) needs CA-series chains; Uzbekistan's cotton gins and textile mills need hollow-pin chains for process lines.
